MOUs with equipment manufacturers will reduce downtime

The American Farm Bureau Federation recently signed two more right to repair MOUs, this time with AGCO and Kubota. Emily Buckman, AFBF Government Affairs Director, says combined with MOUs from John Deere and CNH Industrial, the four agreements cover roughly 70 percent of the agricultural machinery sold in the United States.

Buckman says the biggest reason to push for the MOUs with equipment manufacturers was in order to reduce downtime in the field for producers.

Buckman says the effort grants farmers access to repair information and allows for future updates.

The MOUs set a framework for farmers and independent repair facilities in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico to access AGCO and Kubota manuals, tools, product guides and information to self-diagnose and self-repair machines.
